Men's day.

I guess (almost) everyone worldwide knows women's day is celebrated on March 8th. Lots of chocolates are produced, bouquets are given, tributes are done... but I notice these things are used to occurring only during the festive date, and the other days are equally cold.  When it's said about men, knowing about their own day sounds like something impossible to exist, but it's not true. I thought, "there is a day for celebrating everything, and I suppose for men it's not different"... and I was right.

Women are used to being curious, and this case was the same way. Some years ago I decide to do a research on internet, and finally found it: this date is July 15th! Obviously it's not so celebrated as the women's day, but at least there is a day especially for men! It's the date to celebrate in Brazil, and internationally it's on November 19th (I couldn't leave it behind, every human being is equally important, no matter the social condition or nationality). Those who were feeling apart from the group, welcome back! Seize the day, it's all yours, dear!

Of course, this information wasn't spread out as it should, but I'm trying to change it little by little. Every year, when this date comes, I give congratulations to my male friends, and it's always funny seeing them surprised with this news (at least they feel special, and say "thank you"; it's priceless!). When possible, I hug each other and demonstrate my admiration for them.

Well, here goes my humble message: happy men's day for every man, wherever you are!

What I think about the World Cup in Brazil.

It's said Brazil is the country of soccer, and the biggest Brazilian passion is this sport. Today ended the most famous soccer international party, and I supported so many teams (including Brazil, of course, and it was always my preference). This World Cup 2014 was absolutely marked by Brazilian happiness, partnership and hospitality. I'm sure all foreigners who came to support their teams in Brazil were captivated by the hosts' charisma.

Since 2006 Brazil is waiting for the dream of the 6th title, and in 2014 was over thanks to Germany (and I tell you, I've never seen Brazil be defeated that way: receiving 7 goals in one single game! It really was THE phenomenon!). It would be perfect to be winner at home, but the belief we will get there soon is still alive, 2018 is on the way. On the other hand, we can't forget that game is a matter of luck. Despite of it, we had so much fun and we had the opportunity to better know different cultures... lessons we will certainly take to the lifetime: Japanese education, German planning, Dutch organization, etc.

Talking about it, I'm sure we could show by our own way to the world we are even more than soccer, samba and carnival. Our multiculturalism makes us peculiar, there are no words to describe it. Obviously we have social troubles (it IS everywhere, but it's completely hidden in some countries worldwide), but the World Cup is magic because we forget our condition for a while, and we feel as if we were one. So, the fest is complete. I realize the fear the whole world had when related to the social movements occurred last year during this same period, but it didn't happen. I do think it's worthy to ask for better education, public security, health, popular representation in the government, etc, but it all will be nothing if the people itself not to try acting different, and building chances to exchange its story that will be written.

I'm proud of being Brazilian, and nothing will take it away from me. I'm Brazilian every time, not only during the game of 90 minutes. Independent on the defeats Brazilian team had the last two games, I trust better days are to come to my homeland. But when I talk about my people, it's very hard to separate "being Brazilian" from "loving soccer" because it's one of a few things that makes us feel truly represented and we know it works well. That's why we have soccer as a strong participation in our own culture.

Unfortunately, the party is over, but it will happen again in 2018, in Russia. Until then, I'll keep on rooting for the 6th title to Brazil, and become true the David Luiz's biggest dream: to see Brazil as champion in and out of the stadiums. What describes this World Cup to me is just this phrase: We are one!

My first speech.

It's been a long time I was thinking about creating a new blog completely written in another language. It's not because I want to stop writing in Portuguese (yes, my original language is Brazilian Portuguese), I just want to try something different... something further than simple talkings on Facebook, Line, Pick, Twitter, etc and such. I don't know if this deep wish appeared because these interactions were not enough to me, all I have been realized is my desire of having new adventures and experiences. I have a lifetime to discover new realities, and I can't waste this precious gift: the present.

Hope this new chapter of my life be incredible as well. :)
